Ronald Smith

Candler-Ronald Lee "Ronnie" Smith, age 59, of Indian Trail died Wednesday, February 2, 2005 at Duke University Medical Center after a long battle with heart disease. He was a native of Kingsport, TN and lived in Buncombe County most of his life. He was a son of Etta Aesque Smith and the late Charlie Joseph Smith. He was employed by Lowes and was a retired theater manager. Ronnie was a member of Ridgeway Baptist Church and was in the National Guard. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 22 years, Cheryl Moore Smith of Candler, one sister, Susan Frost of Kingsport, TN, one brother, Carl Joseph Smith of Kingsport, TN and his mother in-law and father in-law T. C. and Mary E. Moore of Candler and several nieces and a nephew. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 5, 2005 at Ridgeway Baptist Church with Reverend Jack W. Collins officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Enka. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
