Canton - Ronald Page Sprinkle, 70, passed from this life at the John f. Keever Solace Center in Asheville on Sunday, February 18, 2018.

He was preceded in death by his father, J.L. Sprinkle; father-in-law, Leonard Boone; paternal grandparents, M.C. and Berta Page Sprinkle; and maternal grandparents, Earl and Loucilla Calvin.

Ronnie was a successful business man, community leader, committed Christian, devoted husband, father, and papaw. He exemplified unconditional love, generosity, compassion and grace of the human spirit. He was a 1965 graduate of Canton high School. He attended Wake Forest university and was a graduate of Western Carolina University with a degree in Business. After graduation, he then joined the family business, The Canton Laundry. After several years, Ronnie acquired ownership of the business and formed PLUS Linen & Uniform Service. He then worked hard to grow the business and opened additional locations in Greenville, South Carolina and Charlotte, North Carolina. As a business owner, he was very involved in industry related associations. He was a member of the Textile Rental Service Association, the Apparel Masters Association and served as a board member and President of both the Independent Textile Service Association and the North Carolina Association of Textile Services.

Ronnie valued the community where he lived and worked and was always committed to do what he could to serve. He was in the NC National Guard. He was very active in the Haywood Rotary Club, the Haywood County Economic Development Council, served on the Town of Canton Planning Board, Chairman of the Town of Canton Redevelopment Committee and an Alderman for the Town of Canton.

He was a life-long member of Canton First Baptist Church where he served as a deacon chairperson and on many various committees over the years. He was member of the Mann Sunday School Class and enjoyed being part of several mission trips with his church.

Ronnie found great happiness in traveling, spending time at the lake, the beach and playing golf everywhere. He enjoyed life and loved being with his family and friends.

He is survived by his mother, Marion Calvin Sprinkle; his wife of 49 years, Nancy Boone Sprinkle; three daughters, Page Truesdale (Sid), Amy Lowery (Kevin), and Carrie Thomason; eight grandchildren, Peyton and Parker Truesdale, Chandler and Jake Lowery, Louci, Lila, Sarah, and Shepherd Thomason; two step-grandchildren, Sidney Truesdale and Sheridan Summer; sister, Lorene West (David); mother-in-law, Hilda Boone; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Lynn and Mike Pressley; nieces, Cyndy Rape and Dolly Pressley Byrd; and a nephew, Jeremy Pressley.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 23, 2018 at Canton First Baptist Church with the Reverend Court Greene officiating and eulogies by Bruce Miller and Doug Johnson. Inurnment will follow at Bon-A-Venture on Old Clyde Road. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
