October 9, 1951 — March 21, 2008

Waynesville, Ronald Cecil Raines, of Waynesville, passed away on Friday, March 21, 2008 at John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center, after a courageous battle with cancer. Ronnie was born in Haywood County and was the son of the late Gordon Raines and Evelyn Hannah. He was most previously employed by Clark and Leatherwood and enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time in the woods with friends and family. Ronnie knew how to be a true friend to everyone and will be sadly missed. He is survived by two daughters, Rhonda Raines, of Canton and Sherry Raines of Waynesville; two brothers, Bill Raines, of Morristown, TN and Donnie Raines, of Knoxville, TN; a sister, Diane Raines, of Waynesville; three grandchildren, Bethany Snyder, Brayden Haney and Savannah Garnes; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Monday, March 24, 2008 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Daryl Hannah, Reverend Bruce Cayton and Reverend Dennis Queen officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the services at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center, P.O Box 5779, Asheville, NC 28813.
