Rosa Cathey

Waynesville-Rosa Lee Carver Cathey, age 80, died Tuesday, August 3, 2004 at Park Ridge Hospital in Fletcher. She was born and raised in Beaverdam and was a lifelong resident of Haywood County. She was a daughter of the late Arville R. and Sallie Melinda Smith Carver and was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Louise Cathey, two sisters and five brothers. She is survived by one son, Jan Cathey of Waynesville; five sisters, Peggy Mills of Waynesville, Linda Smith, Tootsie Lindsey, Mary Holder and Reva Carver all of Canton; one brother J.T. Carver of Gaffney, SC and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Friday, August 6, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Homes & Cremation Services with Mr. Ed Bell speaking and the Reverend Carrol Lindsey officiating. Burial will follow in Beaverdam Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. The family requests, that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Beaverdam Community Cemetery Fund, 55 Hickory Ridge, Canton, NC 28716.
