Rosa Haynie

Rosa Lee "Rose" Owenby Haynie, age 81, went Home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Tuesday, November 10, 2009. A native of Haywood County, she was a daughter of the late Arthur B. and Josephine "Josie" Burnette Owenby. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James E. "Jimmy" Haynie, who died in 1987. Jim was the love of her life and one of her greatest joys was traveling the country with him as he entertained many different people. Rose retired from Champion Paper & Fiber Company, with 45 years of service, where she worked in accounting and data processing. Rose was a lifelong member of Canton First Baptist Church where she served as a choir member and former deacon. She is survived by a daughter, Carolyn L. Haynie of Alpharetta, GA; a sister, Dorothy H. "Dot" Jones and her husband, Dan, of Sanford, NC; and numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews and cousins, whom she loved dearly. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 14, 2009 at Canton First Baptist Church with Reverend James A. Meadows and Reverend Dr. Jack B. Sammons officiating. Burial will follow at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery on Old Clyde Road. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at Wells Funeral Home of Canton.
