Rosa Mitchell

Waynesville - Rosa Lee Mitchell, age 95, died on Friday, January 11, 2008 at Silver Bluff Nursing Home. A native of Copperhill, TN, she had resided in Haywood County since 1930. She was preceded in death by her first husband, John Mitchell, who died in 1955 and her second husband, Johnie Messer. She was an employee of Wellco for more than 20 years and retired as a supervisor in 1975. She was of the Baptist faith. She is survived by her son, James David Mitchell and his wife, Grace, of Waynesville; three grandchildren, Gary Mitchell, Johnny Mitchell and his wife, Gloria, and Jacqueline Goforth and her husband, Steve; five great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. Graveside services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 14, 2008 at Green Hill Cemetery with Pastor Jay Eastridge officiating. The family received friends prior to the service at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
