Rosemary Evans

Maggie Valley, Rosemary Caldwell Evans, age 77, of 408 Bob Evans Drive, passed away on Friday, December 11, 2009. A native and life long resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Cash and Cora Rich Caldwell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Cordell Evans, Jr. who died in 1996 and an infant sister, Billie Sue Caldwell. Rosemary was a retired Dayco employee with 38 years of service. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Maggie Valley where she faithfully served on the Meals Committee, Meals-on-Wheels, and senior group of the church. Rosemary loved to quilt and was past president of the Maggie Valley Quilters Guild. She enjoyed gardening, basket-weaving, cooking and baking for family and others. Rosemary was also an avid member of the Haywood County Health and Fitness Center. She is survived by her son, Randy Evans and his wife, Gwen; a grandson, John Mark Evans and his wife, Caitlin, and their children, Abby and Madilyn; two brothers, Tommy Caldwell and Manzie Caldwell and his wife, Linda, and their children, Penny and Andy, all of Maggie Valley. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, December 14, 2009 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Ricky Mason officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Serving as pallbearers will be Justin and Chase Carver, Alan Morrow, John Inman, Ken Jinright, Ed Young, Scott Pauley, and Roger McElroy. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Maggie Valley Meals on Wheels Fund, P.O.
