Roy Burch

Roy Downie Burch, age 85, passed away on Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at John F. Keever Solace Center. A native of Haywood County, he was a son of the late Vasar D. and Mae Stevenson Burch. Roy was a member of New Morgan Hill Baptist Church and retired from American Enka with 44 years of service. He is survived by his wife, of 64 years, Verna Lemming Burch; one son, Michael Burch and his wife, Nan, of Candler; one daughter, Jane Sprinkle and her husband, Rick, of Miles City, MT; one sister, Norma Sellars of Canton; four brothers, Boyd, Billy, and Linden Burch, all of Clyde, and Bobby Burch of Waynesville; three grandchildren, Danny and Lizzie Sprinkle, and their children, Lacey and Courtney, Dr. C. Christopher Pressley, and Lauren Pressley Moriarty; and five great-grandchildren, Madeline, Sarah, and Audrey Pressley, and Connor and Ian Moriarty. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 12, 2010 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Roy Houston officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. prior to the service.
