Roy Inbody

Waynesville, Roy Dean Inbody, age 89, passed away on Sunday, January 31, 2021 at his residence.

A native of Tulsa, Oklahoma he was the son of the late J. Roy Inbody and Billie Kincaid Inbody. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by both of his brothers, Don Inbody and J. Roy Inbody, and a son, Steven J. Inbody. Roy proudly served his country in the United States Army. He retired with 35 years of service to Enron Gas (Florida Gas Transmission) as Operations Director in 1990. An avid fisherman, Roy also loved boating and camping. He was very skilled at woodworking, designing and building beautiful pieces of furniture that he would give as gifts. Having grown up in Scouting, Roy remained active with The Boy Scouts as an adult leader and mentor. Roy was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Waynesville and a volunteer at The Open Doors Ministries. While in Florida he also served his community as a member of Kiwanis Club.

Roy is survived by his wife of 67 years, Doris Ann Stanley Inbody, and their two sons, Mark Inbody and Phillip Inbody.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday June 23, 2021 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home.

The care of Mr. Inbody has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
