Roy Freeman

April 8, 1948 — July 28, 2014

Roy Martin "Crow" Freeman, age 66, passed away on Monday, July 28, 2014 at MedWest Haywood. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Sam and Annie Lee Mann Freeman. He was also preceded in death by a brother, James Freeman. He was a United States Army veteran serving in Vietnam and was a member of Burnette Cove Baptist Church. Roy enjoyed hunting, fishing, cars, and NASCAR, especially No. 18. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Bonnie Grogan Freeman; two daughters, Tammy Freeman Reeves and her husband, Rudy, of Leicester and April Freeman James and her husband, Allen, of Canton; two sisters, Betty West of Travelers Rest, South Carolina and Vera Freeman of Canton' two brothers, Johnny Freeman of Cadiz, Kentucky and Keith Freeman of Canton; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday on July 31, 2014 at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Dr. Jack Holland officiating. Burial will follow at Cruso United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
