Roy Henson

Roy Lee Henson, 82, of Marshall, died Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at his home. A native of Buncombe County, he was the son of the late George Wesley and Mattie Kerlay Henson. Roy served in the US Marine Corps and attended Mt. Bethel Free Will Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Jean Holcombe Henson; brothers, James and Jasper Henson, sisters, Margaret Wright and Emma Dee Laney.
Roy is survived by his daughters, Sandra Doan of Marshall, Linda McIlwain of Lake Lure, and Jean Hoard of Rogersville, TN; son, Charles Henson of Marshall; 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00PM on Friday, December 26th in the Chapel of Faith, Moore Funeral Home at Forest Lawn. The family will receive friends from 12:00PM -2:00PM prior to the service. Burial with Military Honors will follow the service at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Candler.
