Roy Ledbetter

"Papaw" Waynesville – Roy H. Ledbetter, 82, of the Inman Branch Community, passed away on Sunday, January 1, 2017 at Silver Bluff Nursing Home. A native of Haywood County, he was a son of the late Jonathan P. and Allie Chambers Ledbetter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joann Rogers Ledbetter, who died in 1997; a son, Roger Chambers; four brothers; and a sister. He had retired from Servomation and was a member of Burnette Cove Baptist Church. He is survived by three daughters, Anita Inman and husband, Verlin "Peanut", Debbie Sorrells and husband, Danny, all of Waynesville, and Janet Howell and husband, Stephen, of Canton; one son, Bruce Chambers and wife, Becky, of Waynesville; seven grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 3, 2016 at Riverside Baptist Church with the Reverend Steve Frazier and Reverend Nathan Ashe officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Monday evening at Wells Funeral Home in Canton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to one's favorite charity.
