Roy Stamey

Clyde – William Roy Stamey, 82, passed away on Friday, March 17, 2023, at his residence.

Roy was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and a son of the late Billy and Molly Case Stamey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter and two sisters.  Roy was a United States Air Force veteran and a graduate of Clyde High School.  He was the owner and operator of WRS Truck Brokers and served on the board of directors at Haywood Electric Membership Corporation.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Barbara Harris Stamey; one daughter, Shari Allen (Keith), of Wake Forest; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

At Roy’s request, no services are planned.

The care of Mr. Stamey has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Canton.
