Roy Wilson

Roy Lee Wilson, age 76, of Candler died Saturday, December 8, 2007 at his residence after a period of declining health. He was a native of Buncombe County and was the son of the late John Willis and Blanche Payne Wilson. He retired from Champion International in 1988 with 33 years of service and was a member of Ridgeway Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Monteen Allen Wilson; two sons, Glenn Wilson and his wife, Carolyn of Candler and Ricky Wilson and special friend, Cindy Rymer, of Candler; two brothers, Sherrill Wilson and his wife, Nancy, of Candler and Ben Wilson and his wife, Loree, of Candler; two special aunts, Dorothy Wilson Coble of Spartanburg, SC and Daisy Payne Reed of Charleston, SC; several nieces and nephews and extended family; a grandson, John and special friend, Tammy Caldwell and two step-granddaughters, Christy Frisbee and her husband, Mark and Misty Deyo and her husband, Eddie, of Raleigh. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 10, 2007 at the Chapel of Wells Funeral Home in Canton with the Reverend Jackie Collins officiating. Burial will follow at Ridgeway Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. Monday prior to the service.
