Ruby Best

Waynesville-Ruby Clark Best, age 70, of the Fines Creek Community, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 19, 2007. A native of Powhatan County, Virginia, she had lived in Haywood County for the past 40 years. She was the daughter of the late Andy and Launa Nester Clark. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Eula Mae, and one brother, Clinton. She retired in 1995 after 27 years of employment at the Dayco Corporation. Ruby was always on a "mission" doing the Lord's work. She also loved being outdoors especially taking long walks with her family. She is survived by one daughter, Vivian Revis, and her husband, Johnny, of Clyde; one son, Max Trantham and his wife, Kim, of Bryson City; four sisters, Cookie, Peggy, Nancy, and Frankie and four brothers, Andy, Jack, David, and Robert Clark, all of Virginia; five grandchildren, Michelle and Nacole Revis, and Justin, Courtney, and Hailey Trantham; eight great grandchildren, Heathur, Dilonne, Katee, ReShae, Daltun, Chloe, Dakota, and Phoenix; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 23, 2007 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Gary Moore officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army, P.O. Box 358, Waynesville, NC 28786.
