Ruby Caldwell Bradley

Ruby Caldwell Bradley, age 91, passed away on May 8, 2024.

A native of Haywood County, Ruby was one of the last children born in Cataloochee Valley.  She was born March 29, 1933, and was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas H. and Ella Jane Caldwell; brothers, John, Lloyd, Dock, Frank, Tommy, Jack and Thurman.   She is also preceded in death by her sisters, Minnie Parton, Annie Caldwell, Mary Waldrop, Cora Moody, Sarah Sutton, and Betty Cook.

Ruby graduated from Waynesville Township High School in 1951.  Upon graduation she went to work for Southern Bell for several years.

Ruby’s greatest joy in life was caring for her family and the love of her life, her husband Bob.  She and her only grandchild, Morgan, shared a special bond and Morgan spent many hours with her grandparents.

She is survived by her beloved husband Robert (Bob) Bradley; her daughter, Susie Bradley; her granddaughter, Morgan Plemmons (Hunter) and great grandsons Bradley and William Plemmons.  She is also survived by several special nieces and nephews. 

Ruby’s family would like to thank the staff of Silver Bluff Rehab for their excellent and kind care during her stay there.  They would also like to thank the staff and caregivers at Haywood Lodge for the exceptional care and compassionate, loving support shown to Ruby and her family during her stay. 

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Garrett Hillcrest Memorial Park.  Family and Friends are welcome to attend.
