Ruby Burnette

Waynesville-Ruby Mae Burnette, age 71, of 415 Underwood Cove Road, passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2007 at her residence. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Vinnie Mull Conard. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Ransone Burnette, who died in 2002; one son, Darrell Burnette; six brothers, Floyd, Harry, Lawrence, John, Jim, and Clarence; two sisters, Helen Cole and Eva Loftus; a stepdaughter, Shelby Jean Carroll; and one stepson, Ronald Burnette. She was a member of Rocky Branch Baptist Church and enjoyed singing in the church, animals, traveling, fishing, and camping. She is survived by two daughters, Freida McGaha and her husband, Bobby, of Bybee, TN and Carol Trammell and her husband, Tommy of Waynesville; two stepdaughters, Phyllis Trantham of Clyde and Vickie Clark of Waynesville; one son, David Lance and his wife, Johnnie of Canton; two stepsons, Bobby Burnette and his wife, Brenda of Waynesville and Bruce Revis of Hickory; one sister, Katherine Conard, of Hudson, NC; 24 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; a special friend, Kenneth Hall; and a loving dog, Bouncer. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 19, 2007 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with reverend Jerry Nelson officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
