Ruby Conner

Waynesville-Ruby Geneva Gunter Conner, age 77, of 969 Orion Davis Road, died January 16, 2005 at her residence. A native of Boise, Idaho, she had lived most of her life in Haywood County. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Dellie Wykle Gunter and was also preceded in death by a brother, Joe Gunter. She was a member of Balsam Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Herman Conner; a daughter, Cathy Lowdermilk, and her husband, Kent; six sons, Johnny Conner and his wife, Linda, Clyde Conner, Gerald Conner and his wife, Shirley, and Dean Conner, all of Waynesville, and Ricky Conner and his wife, Kay, and Danny Conner and his wife, Angie, both of Sylva; two sisters, Lovon Styles of Waynesville, and Dessie Plott and her husband, Fred, of Blairsville, GA; four brothers, Thomas Gunter and his wife, Bobbie, and Arthur Gunter and his wife, Betty, both of Waynesville and Doyle Gunter of Blairsville, GA and Frankie Gunter and his wife, Shelby, of Gainesville, GA; a sister-in-law, Sandra Gunter, of Blairsville, GA; 18 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and several special nieces, nephews, and special friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 18, 2005 at Balsam Baptist Church with Reverend Johnny Swanger and Reverend Steve Gunter officiating. Burial will follow at Balsam Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Monday, January 17, 2005 at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville. At other times, the family will be at the residence. Serving as pallbearers will be Todd, Rusty, Scott, Nathan, and Josh Conner, Robbie Davis, and Jared and Jacob Lowdermilk. Honorary pallbearers will be Tony, Charlie, Gerald, and Billie Conner, Bobby Suttles, Earl and Jerry Davis, Chris Lowdermilk, and Dennis Smathers. Memorials may be made to Balsam Baptist Church, P.O.
