January 7, 1912 — March 22, 2005

Waynesville, NC-Ruby Eileen Reninger Costine went home to be with the Lord Tuesday evening, March 22, 2005 following several years of ill health. She was born on January 7, 1912 to William Weaver and Dora Teller Reninger at Hubbard, Nebraska, grew up in Norfolk, Nebraska, where the family relocated, and graduated from Norfolk High School in 1929. As the youngest of the eleven Reninger children, she wintered in Florida with her parents where she met Frank Costine at church BYPU one Sunday evening. A summer's correspondence followed and the next year the couple married in March, 1931. They made their home in Avon Park, Florida where Mrs. Costine taught Sunday School, was president of WMU and sang solos in the choir of First Baptist Church. During WWII, she kept books for a couple of businesses, and then returned to business school at night, honing her secretarial skills. Her husband's work took the couple to Ocala, FL where she continued bookkeeping and earned her real estate license. By the time of her husband's death in 1973, they lived in Quincy, FL and Mrs. Costine had become office manager and controller for Teletron, Inc. of Tallahassee. She relocated to the Grandview area of Waynesville, NC in 1995 to be near her daughter and was a member of First Baptist Church. She served as a volunteer at Haywood Christian Ministries and HAWA. Survivors include her daughter and husband, Dodi and Bill Lovett, three grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren; Eileen L. and Fred Weber, Rick, Michael and Katherine of Knoxville, TN; D'Ann L. and Terry Mimbs, Whitney, Matthew and Blake of McRae, GA; and the Reverend Marion F. and Chesley Lovett, Kaliste, Caleb, Kenan, Abby, Anna and Jonathan of Flowery Branch, Ga. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 28, 2005 in the chapel of Culley's Meadow Wood Funeral Home on Riggins Road with Reverend Marion F. Lovett officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Samaritan's Purse, P.O.
