Ruby Green

Waynesville, Ruby Bryson Green, age 95, of Stevenson Cove Road, passed away on Tuesday, March 06, 2012 at MedWest Haywood. A native of Haywood County and lifelong resident of the Iron Duff Community, she was the daughter of the late Carl Winfred and Ninnie Jane McElroy Bryson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Hobert Green, who died in 2003; one son, Billy Green; five sisters, Ila Lepley, Edna Davis, Jessie Humphrey, Billie Davis, and Pansy Reeves; and one brother, Mack Bryson. Ruby was a member of Antioch Baptist Church, who enjoyed quilting, working in her garden, and cooking meals for all of her family and friends. She is survived by three daughters, Peggy Sue Parkins of Clyde, Anna Jean Plemmons (Reid) of Brevard, and Kathy René Green of Waynesville; two sons, Kevin Green (Judy) of Waynesville and Keith Green (Becky) of Maggie Valley; three sisters, Lois Pippin and Sally Kate Phillips (Howard) of Waynesville, and Susie Richards (Jack) of Chattanooga, Tennessee; one brother, Duane Bryson (Vivian) of Waynesville; 12 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and 6 great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 8, 2012 at Antioch Baptist Church with Reverend Steve Taylor, Reverend Ted Reeves, and Reverend Jimmy Moore officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Well Funeral Home of Waynesville.
