Ruby Best

Ruby Price Best, age 79, of 2240 Hyder Mountain Road passed away Thursday, February 23, 2006 at her residence. She was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and the daughter of the late Lee Price and Annie Haney Smart. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Best, who died in 2002. She was a homemaker and a member of Fincher's Chapel United Methodist Church. She is survived by two daughters, Linda Best and Donna Allen and her husband, Jimmy; two sons, Gary Best and Sonja, and Ricky Best and his wife, Audrey, all of Clyde; four grandchildren, Eddie, Ashley and Jason Best and Renee Allen and her fiancé, Jonathan Rowland; and two special sisters-in-law, Dot and Pat Best. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 26, 2006 at the Canton chapel of Wells Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Fincher's Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the residence. Pallbearers will be Richard Burch, Scott McClure, Mike Davis, Ken Stevens, Tony McClure, and Kelly Russell. Honorary pallbearers will be Sam Crain and Steve Buchanan.
