Ruby Thompson

Ruby L. Thompson, age 81, of 1500 Max Thompson Road, died Friday, September 22, 2006. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Nellie Shepard Lanning. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ray Edward Thompson, who died in 1978. Ruby was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She is survived by a daughter, Jill Thompson Holbert and her husband, Gene, of Hendersonville; a son, Richard Thompson, of Canton; two grandchildren, Kellie Kirkpatrick and her husband, Chad, of Olive Branch, MS and Randy Thompson and his wife, Danniele, of Canton and four great-grandchildren, Emily, Kyndal and Killian Kirkpatrick, of Olive Branch, MS and Harrison Thompson of Canton. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 24, 2006, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with the Reverend Perry Brindley officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:30 p.m. prior at the chapel of Wells Funeral Home of Canton. At other times the family will be at the residence of the grandson, Randy Thompson, 3510 Old River Road, Canton. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O.
