Russell Kramer

Waynesville-Russell Kramer, age 82, of Dellwood Road, died Friday, March 2, 2007 at his home. A native of Middletown, Ohio, he was the son of the late John and Ella Maxwell Kramer. He is also preceded in death by a son, Donald Russell Kramer, four sisters and six brothers. He was a resident of Haywood County for two years moving here from Palmetto, Florida. He retired from Wright Patterson Air Force Base as a parts expeditor. Russell was a member of Maggie Valley United Methodist Church and served in the United States Army during World War II and was at Normandy Beach on D-Day. He was a member of the South Eastern Guide Dog Association, Mary Alice Mann Visually Impaired Group and Blood Donor Ten Gallon Club. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Clara Mae Kramer; three daughters, Karen Hanley and her husband, Matthew of Atlanta, GA, Shirley Kelley and her husband, Keith of Waynesville, Judy Donnal and her husband, Mel of Kenton, Ohio; one brother, Ross Kramer of Deland, FL; seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, March 5, 2007 at Maggie Valley United Methodist Church with Reverend Jeremy Troxler officiating. Burial will be in Ohio. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Serving as pallbearers will be three of his grandchildren and a great-grandson.
