Ruth Ball

Canton - Ruth Free Ball, age 84, of Max Thompson Road, died Sunday, August 12, 2007 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. She was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and a daughter of the late Esau and Cora Williams Free. She was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church for more than 60 years. Ruth loved her church very much and she loved providing care for children of the community. She is survived by one son, Terry L. Ball and his wife, Erika, of Gray Court, SC; two brothers, Ed Free and his wife, Nancy and Carlos Free and his wife, Frances, all of Canton; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and a number of nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 15, 2007 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Reverend Perry Brindley officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at Wells Funeral Home of Canton. At other times, the family will be at the home. Memorials may be made to Mt.
