Ruth Bolden

Canton-Ruth Harkins Bolden, age 87, of 81 Sandalwood Lane died Monday, April 28, 2003 at Haywood Regional Medical Center.

She was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and was the daughter of the late Newton and Sally Crook Harkins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon M. Bolden, who died in 1992. She was co-owner of B & H Grocery and was also a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Mrs. Bolden was a former employee of Burger King of Canton as a dining room hostess.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, May 1, 2003 at Calvary Baptist Church with Reverend Dennis Ruff, Reverend Darrell Webb and Reverend Max Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery on Newfound Road with an Eastern Star service conducted by the Oak Leaf Chapter #81 of the Order of the Eastern Star of which she was a member. The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. Thursday at the church prior to the service. At other times, the family will be at the home of Robert and Mary Davis, 81 Sandalwood Drive, Canton, NC 28716.
