Ruth Estelle "Puddy" Burnette

Ruth Estelle “Puddy” Burnette, 86 of Waynesville, NC passed away on May 23, 2024 at the Care Partners/Solace Center in Asheville, NC after a fall near her home.

She was born in Waynesville on March 22, 1938, daughter of the late Ernest Edward and Madge Smith Burnette.  She was proceed in death by three older sisters, Earnestine “Did” Burnette, Alice Hicks, Lilly Mae Smith, and a brother, Rufus Burnette.

She is survived by her sister, Nora Burnette Conley,   a number of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Ruth was a graduate of The Allen School for Girls, in Asheville, NC.  She was employed by Beau Monde for more than forty years.  She retired in 2015.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 in the chapel of Well Funeral Home, Waynesville, NC.   Services will be conduced by the Reverend’s William Eric Staley, and William Edward Staley.  Visitation will be held 30 minutes prior to the services.   Internment will be at Green Hill Columbarium in Waynesville, NC

At other times they will be at the home of Nora Conley, 139 Reynolds School Road in Canton, NC.

The family is especially grateful to the staff of Elite Salon, and all the neighbors, friends who helped look after our dear sister, and auntie.
