Ruth Detwiler

Clyde- Ruth Housley Detwiler, age 91, passed away on Saturday, June 5, 2010 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. A native of Buncombe County, she was the daughter of the late Harley A. and Jossie Hall Robinson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Edward G. Housley who died in 1975. Ruth was a former employee of Champion International, Welco, and Pisgah High Cafeteria. She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Ernest H. Detwiler, a son, Terry Housley; a brother, Edwin Robinson of Kingston, TN, two grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from until 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Monday at Wells Funeral Home of Canton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 39 Robinson Road, Canton, NC 28716.
