Waynesville, Johnnie Ruth Jackson Dumas, age 75, went into the arms of Jesus on Thursday, August 12, 2022 when she peacefully passed away at her residence.
A native of Abbeville, SC and long-term resident of Haywood County, she was a daughter of the late Clyde Sylvester Jackson and Annie Mae Burnett Jackson. Ruth was also preceded in death by her dear husband, Isaac Dumas; sisters, Geneva Jackson and Wilma Bryant; and brother, Willie Jackson.
A proud member of Jones Temple AME Zion Church, Ruth retired from Dayco after many years as an instrument mechanic. Ruth was an avid traveler and one of her favorite pastimes was enjoying the excitement of gambling and games of chance.
Ruth is survived by her brothers, Clyde W. (Shirley) Jackson and Bobby Jackson; eight special nieces and nephews, Tina Bryant (Steven) Frady, Thomas Bryant Jr., Clyde Jackson Jr., Kenneth (Ronica) Jackson, Damishia Jackson, Willie (Nece) Jackson Jr., Bobby Joe, Jr., and Chrys Bryant; as well as many more nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 17, 2022, in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Walter Bryson officiating.
The care of Mrs. Dumas has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
