Ruth Edwards

Waynesville, Ruth (Honey) Bradley Edwards, age 83, passed away on Friday, March 04, 2011 at Autumn Care Nursing Home. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Sam and Vennie Moody Bradley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Kenneth Edwards, who died in 2007; two sons, Jimmy and Steve Edwards; a sister, Betty Fortner; and one brother, Dick Bradley. She retired from American Enka and was a former bookkeeper for several businesses in the county. She enjoyed cooking and working crossword puzzles and was a member of Hazelwood Baptist Church. She is survived by her son, Bill Edwards and his wife, Bette, of Waynesville; one daughter-in-law, Linda Edwards, of North Wilksboro, North Carolina; a sister, Elizabeth Troutman of Ohio; four grandchildren, Derek, Adrian, Lori, and Rusty; ten great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 7, 2011 at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park with Reverend Woody Adams officiating.
