Ruth Grigg

Clyde-Ruth Barrett Grigg, age 70, of 316 Chambers Mtn. Road, Clyde died Saturday, June 11, 2005 at her residence. A native of Gaston County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Alonza L. and Middie Neil Barrett. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Leslie Caron Bulter in 1993; one sister; five brothers; two grandsons; one granddaughter; and one great grandson. She is survived by three daughters, Linda Crane and her husband, Neal, and Diane Parton, both of Waynesville, and Kimberly Lewis and her husband, Mitchell, of Clyde; one son, Bobby Carl Smith, of Waynesville; three sisters, Hazel Jones of Charlotte, Peggy Carter of Taylors SC, and Barbara Hampton of Bessemer City, NC; 11 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 16, 2005 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Homes and Cremation Services with the Reverend Odell Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening, June 15, 2005 at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers will be Christopher Grigg, Randy Frizzell, Jeremy Smith, Mitchell Lewis, Sr., Neal Crane, and Jeff Singleton.
