Ruth Hanst

Waynesville, NC, Ruth Willman Hanst, age 86, passed away on Sunday, December 19, 2010 at Autumn Care. A native of Venango County, Pennsylvania, she had previously resided in Orlando, Florida before moving to Haywood County in 1986. She was the daughter of the late Daryl and Irrie Shirey Willman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Hanst, who died in 2001; a sister, Myrna W. Culp; and one brother, Joseph Willman. Ruth enjoyed shopping, knitting, crocheting and sewing. She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church. She is survived by one son, John E. Hanst, of Orlando, Florida and two daughters, Linda J. Hanst of Waynesville and Amy R. Hanst of Newberry, Florida. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 21, 2010 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Pastor John Greene officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. prior to the services. Burial will be at St. Paul's Union Cemetery in Knox, Pennsylvania.
