Ruth Hoyt

Waynesville, Ruth Caroline Garner Hoyt, 89, passed away on Friday, November 26, 2021 at Haywood Regional Medical Center.

Ruth was a native of Ohio and was a prior resident of Arizona, Oregon and California before living in North Carolina  She was the daughter of the late Ray and Louise Mae Ranger Garner.  Ruth retired after 32 years as an educator. She enjoyed reading and gardening and was a member of First United Methodist Church of Waynesville and Faith Sunday School Class.

Ruth is survived by her husband of 68 years, James Leslie Hoyt; four sons, Mike Hoyt (Nancy), John Hoyt (Pati),  Rick Hoyt-McDaniels (Jim), and Paul Hoyt (Jessica Vener); sister, Doris Kneuer; brother, Ray Garner; niece, Annette Garner ; and four grandchildren, Bryce, Gerilyn, Melat.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
