Ruth Medford

Clyde-Ruth Taylor Medford, age 62, of Hospital Drive, died on July 18, 2006 at Mission Hospital. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Alma Jones Taylor. She worked at Dayco and retired after 33 years employment. Ruth was an avid sports fan and loved watching her grandchildren play a variety of sports, and was also a huge fan of Nascar. She was a member of Woodland Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Ray Medford; one daughter, Tonya Burris and husband, Steve, of Waynesville; one son, Marty Medford and wife, Teresa, of Waynesville; four sisters, Sue Grasty, Betty Allison and husband, Edwin, Elizabeth Barlow, and Kathy Whitaker and husband, Keith, all of Clyde; one brother, Robert Taylor and wife, Hazel, of Clyde; and five grandchildren, Stephanie and Julie Burris, Kasey and Jake Medford, and Justin Belt. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 22, 2006 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 9:30 until 11:00 a.m. on Saturday prior to services at the funeral home, and at other times, the family will be at the residence.
