Ruth Rathbone

Clyde, Ruth Mae Beasley Rathbone, age 82, of Broad Street, went to be with the Lord on August 13, 2010. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Glen Taylor and Velma Smith Beasley. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Len Rathbone and a sister, Ruby Beasley. Ruth enjoyed crocheting, knitting, sewing and cooking, but above all, she loved God, her family, and friends. She is survived by her son, David Rathbone and his wife, Phyllis, of Barnardsville; one sister, Glenda McCracken; one grandson, Nicholas Rathbone; and two nephews, Darren and Devin McCracken and their families. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 15, 2010 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Garry Rogers and Reverend Harry Worley officiating. Burial will follow at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery in Clyde. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:30 p.m. prior to services at the funeral home, and at other times, at the home of Ruth Rathbone.
