Ruth Shook

Canton – Ruth Poe Shook, 93, passed away on Friday, October 8, 2021 at Silver Bluff Nursing Home.

A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late William Earl and Ollie Sutton Poe.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Elwood Shook, Jr., who died in 2009; and a sister, Betty McClure.  Ruth was a member of West Canton Baptist Church.  Ruth enjoyed arts and crafts, playing bridge, traveling, camping and spending time with her family.

She is survived by two daughters, Sharon Shook Rhinehart of Newnan, Georgia and Tenya Marleen Shook of Canton; three granddaughters, Tracy, Holly and Cindy; two great-granddaughters, Mattyson and Abby; and a great-grandson, Micah.

A graveside service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens with the Reverend Jeff Holder officiating.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
