Ruth Woody

"1922 – 2016" Hot Springs – Ruth Elizabeth Waldroup Woody, age 94, passed away on Monday, March 14, 2016 at The Laurels of Hendersonville. A native and lifelong resident of Madison County, she was a daughter of the late Burnette and Violet Worsham Waldroup. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dempsey Woody. She is survived by two daughters, Lois Davis and husband, Wayne, of Hendersonville, and Violet Ann Heatherly and husband, Bill, of Louisville, Kentucky; one son, Eugene Woody of Hot Springs; one grandson, Neal Heatherly of Louisville, Kentucky; and three granddaughters, Madeline, Abigail, and Hannah Marie. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at Zion Missionary Baptist Church – Hot Springs/Bluff with Reverend Rick Townsend officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service. The family wishes to express a special thanks to The Laurels of Hendersonville staff and all employees for their excellent care. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Zion Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery Maintenance Fund, 1124 Bluff Mountain Road, Hot Springs, NC 28743.
