Ruth Yarborough

Ruth Elizabeth Yarborough, age 83, of Blaylock Street, died Saturday, September 02, 2006, at her daughter's residence. She was the daughter of the late James and Rachel Reeves Glance. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Yarborough, who died in 1998; a son, Keith Yarborough; two sisters, Novella Robertson and Alma Shipman and a brother, Russell Glance. Ruth was a woman of God, she was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and she loved her church. She enjoyed car rides to David's Store and Lake Logan with her family. Anyone who knew Ruth knew she loved to sing. Ruth touched the lives and hearts of all those around her and her most cherished treasure was her family. Her life was a true testimony. She is survived by two daughters, Glenda Stanley and Louise Stamey and her husband, David; two sons, Len Yarborough and his wife, Sandra, and Everett Yarborough and his wife, Patricia; a brother, Reeves Glance and his wife, Doris, all of Canton; a sister, Reva Swann and her husband, Ray, of Alabama; 8 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 4, 2006, at the Canton chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Johnny Passmore and Reverend Blaine Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Sunday, September 3, 2006, at the funeral home; at all other times, the family will be at Ruth's residenc
