Canton – Sally Pless Grogan, age 92, of the Cruso Community passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2013 at her residence. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Rex and Pearl Sharp Pless. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Pastor Guy V. Grogan, who died in 1985; eight brothers and sisters; and a daughter-in-law, Carolyn Grogan, who died in 2010. She was a homemaker and the oldest living member of East Fork Baptist Church. Her interests included sewing and gardening. She is survived by a daughter, Judy Heatherly and her husband, Jack, of Canton; a son, Bill Grogan and his wife, Pat, of Candler; a grandson, Pastor Jeff Heatherly and his wife, Kristy; two great-granddaughters, Jennifer and Sarah Heatherly; and a special friend, Shirley Leatherwood. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Heatherly officiating. Burial will follow at New Cruso Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. At other times, the family will be at the home of Jack and Judy Heatherly, 1010 Cold Creek Road.
