Sally Phillips

Waynesville, Sally Kate Bryson Phillips, age 82 of Tumbling Fork Road, passed away, Monday, September 2, 2013 at her home. She was a native of Haywood County and was the daughter of the late Winford Carl and Ninnie McElroy Bryson. Sally Kate was also preceded in death by one brother, seven sisters and one grandchild. She was a member of Hemphill Baptist Church. Sally worked at Rock Hill School in the cafeteria for 17 years and Jonathan Valley Elementary Cafeteria for one year. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Howard Robert Phillips, one daughter, Karen Phillips Warren and her husband Dan of Canton; two sons, Kyle Phillips and Michael Phillips, both of Waynesville; a sister, Susie Richards of Chattanooga, TN; a brother, Duane Bryson and his wife Vivian of Waynesville; 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 3, 2013 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home. Reverend Ted Reeves, Reverend Larry Reeves and Reverend Jake Cagle will officiate. Burial will follow at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Hemphill Baptist Church, 1829 Hemphill Road, Waynesville, NC 28785.
