Salvatore Pace

Clyde - Salvatore Joseph Pace, age 79, died Wednesday, January 2, 2008 at Canton Christian Convalescent. He was a native of Stamford, Ct. and was a son of the late Vito and Ruth Corelli Pace. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lieutenant Colonel Annie Paxton Pace, who died in April, 2007. Joe was a retired United States Army veteran with 20 years of service. Salvatore thoroughly enjoyed his breakfast and lunch group at the Canton McDonalds. He is survived by two sisters-in-law, Josephine P. Green and her husband, Horace, of Lake Junaluska, and Thomasine Harkins and her husband, Bill, of Canton; one brother, Leonard Pace, Sr. of Orange, CT, and several nieces and nephews. A military memorial graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 12, 2008 at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens with Reverend W.O. "Bill" Henson officiating. Wells Funeral Home of Canton is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to West Canton Baptist Church Building Fund, 75 Lowe Street, Canton, NC 28716.
