Samantha Rich

Waynesville, Samantha Brook Rich, age 22, of the Saunook Community, passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at the Mission Hospitals Memorial Campus. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of Michael Wayne and Jackie Green Rich of Waynesville. Samantha, first and foremost, loved to be the center of attention. She enjoyed riding her golf cart outside, listening to music, shopping and looking beautiful. Samantha graduated from Tuscola in 2011 and will forever be in the hearts of her family and friends. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her paternal grandmother, Kathleen Rich of Waynesville; three aunts, Wanda McClure and her husband, Tom, of Waynesville; Louise Russell and her husband, John, of Waynesville and Juanita Hunter and her husband, Tom, of Colorado Springs, CO; an uncle, Steve Rich of Sylva and several cousins. A celebration of Samantha's life will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 22, 2012 in the Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Saturday at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville. At other times, the family will be at her residence. Special thanks to Pediatrics ICU at Memorial Mission; to all the doctors and nurses for their love and support. Also, thank you to Maxium Healthcare, Easterseals and to her teacher, Cindy Early and for those who helped take care of Samantha.
