WEAVER CHAMBERS

Clyde-Samuel Weaver Chambers, age 99, Golf Course Road in the Crabtree Community, died Thursday, October 24, 2002 at Haywood Regional Medical Center

A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Cromer and Lee Anner Jackson Chambers. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Bernice Bryson Chambers, who died in 1989; three brothers, Bryan, Sam, and Jack Chambers; four sisters, Fannie Medford, Lucy Medford, Ethel Crawford, and Maggie Davis. He was a self-employed farmer, cattleman, and tobacco grower. He was an avid foxhunter, and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.

He is survived by a son, Frank Chambers, and his wife, Louise, of Waynesville; a daughter, Edith Rogers, of Port St. John, Florida; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 27, 2002 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Steve Taylor and Reverend Max Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Antioch Baptist Church. Pallbearers will be Don, Howell, and Bobby Chambers, Harold, George, and Robert Medford. Honorary pallbearers will be F. B. Chambers, Jr., Charles and Frank Medford. The family will receive friends from 1:30 - 3:00 p.m. prior to the service.

Memorials may be made to the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 542 Iron Duff Road, Waynesville, NC 28786.
