Samuel Lane, Iii

Waynesville, Samuel Houston Lane, III, age 76, passed away on Monday, February 8, 2016 surrounded by his family at Memorial Campus. A native of Haywood County, he was the son of Louise Lane of Hazelwood and the late Samuel Houston Lane, Jr. He attended Western Carolina University, where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business. Sam was a talented salesman and had a charismatic personality. He was a member of Hazelwood Presbyterian Church. In addition to his mother, he is survived by a son, Sam Lane (Theresa) of Santa Paula, California two daughters, Kym Lane of Asheville, North Carolina and Stephanie Little (Mark) of Cary, North Carolina; two sisters, Mary Sharp (David) of Williamsburg, Virginia and Linda Stack of Waynesville; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 12, 2016 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Patrick Womack officiating.
