Sandra Francis

Waynesville, Sandra Jean McClure Francis, age 52, of 56 Arden Street, passed away on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at her residence. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of Mary Louise Curtis McClure and the late Gene Edgar McClure. For the past 18 years, she was a magistrate for Haywood County's 30th Judicial District and was a former officer for the Waynesville Police Department for six years. She was a wonderful mother, daughter, sister, and friend, who had a contagious laugh. She loved her mom's baked goods and had a special love for her animals, especially "Max, her Yorkie and "Bubba" her cat. Sandra also loved to ride Harley Davidson motorcycles and enjoyed gardening and collecting antiques and was a member of Francis Cove United Methodist Church. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of five years, David Wayne Francis; one daughter, Brea Evans, and her partner, Jessica Penland, of Waynesville; a son, Dustin Evans, of Waynesville; two brothers, Tony McClure and his wife, Rebecca, of Clyde and Jimmy McClure and former wife, Natalie, of Waynesville; nieces and nephews, Dylan, Kristen and Kaylen McClure; and special friends, Joseph and Kelly Kilby. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 18, 2010 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Susan Giles and Reverend Terry Rowland officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery with funeral honors conducted by a joint countywide honor guard. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home and at other times, at the Francis residence or at her mother's residence, 35 Arden Street.
