Sandra Lee Farmer Hamlin, age 62, passed away on Wednesday, June 25, 2014, at John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. She was raised in Jackson County and lived most of her life in Haywood County, and was the daughter of the late Harold Lee and Virginia Dare Burgess Farmer. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Danny Farmer. Sandra was a very strong and "sassy" person who was extremely well-rounded and she could do just about anything from operating a chain saw to cooking a delicious meal. She had a green thumb and loved to garden, growing gorgeous daylilies of all colors. Her grandchildren were the apple of her eye and she enjoyed spending time and entertaining them on the river. Sandra was the matriarch of her family and will be deeply missed by them all. She is survived by her husband of 24 years, Glenn Hamlin, Jr.; two daughters, Angie Livingston and her husband, Bill, of Canton and Misty Woods and her husband, David, of Clyde; a stepson, Wayne Hamlin of Asheville; a sister, Brenda Cloer and her husband, Roy, of Sylva; four grandchildren, Veronica Coley and her husband, Brent, Maryssa Rogers, Adam Rogers, and Shera Woods; a great-granddaughter on-the-way; and several nieces and nephews. A celebration of life gathering will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at her daughter's residence, 124 Rivers Edge Way in Canton.
