Sandra Howell

Waynesville-Sandra "Sandie" Howell, age 44, died Friday, September 21, 2007, after a period of declining health. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of Charles E. Cagle and Althea L. Rogers. She held an Associate Degree from Haywood Community College and was an administrative assistant and registrar at Lake Junaluska Assembly for 16 years and retired in 2006. She was a member of Barberville Baptist Church and was passionate about her flower gardens and reading. Along with her parents, she is survived her son, Mark Howell of Waynesville; a sister, Wanda Long and her husband, Steve; her step-father, Ron Rogers, her maternal grandmother, Zel Clark; two nephews, Josh McElrath and Kevin Long and one grandnephew. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 25, 2007 at Barberville Baptist Church with Dr. Evelyn Laycock, Dr. Gordon Goodgame and Reverend Jack Holland officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. prior to the memorial service at the church.
