Sara Haynes

December 18, 1926 — May 17, 2005

Clyde-Sara James Haynes, age 78, formerly of Church Street, died on Tuesday, May 17, 2005 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Robert Lee and Lydia McElroy James. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Clayton Oliver Haynes, who died in 1963; two sisters, Mary Sanford and Doris McClain; and a brother, Carroll James. She was a LPN at Northern State Hospital in Sedro Woolley, WA for many years before moving back to Haywood County where she worked at several nursing homes. She was a member of Wesleyan Church of Clyde. She is survived by two daughters, Nina Haynes of Clyde and Patricia Payne and her husband, James, of Waynesville; a son, Michael James, of Waynesville; a brother, Jack James, of Waynesville; two sisters, Bobbie Hall of the Crabtree Community and Phyllis Ammons of Waynesville; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and special friends, Effie Keener and David Revis. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2005 at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery. Memorials may be to St. John's Learning Center, 225 Church Street, Waynesville, NC 28786.
