Sarah Ashe

Waynesville- Sarah Sue Whiteside Ashe- age 65 of 60 Honeycomb Drive, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, November 02, 2005. Sue fought a long, brave battle with cancer and will be missed by all of her family and friends.<br> <br>She was a native of Haywood County and was the daughter of the late Lee and Exie Messer Whiteside. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Joseph Ashe, her daughter, Karen Ashe Mason and a brother, Roy Whiteside. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and attended High Street Baptist Church. She was a dedicated employee of Anteon Corporation for 20 years. Sue loved life, her family traveling and basket weaving.<br><br>She is survived by her son, Eric Ashe and his wife, Kim of Canton; daughter, Brenda Wilson and her husband, Doug of Canton; son-in-law, Danny Mason of Huntsville, AL; two brothers, Troy Whiteside and his wife, Edna of Bryson City and Jerry Whiteside and his wife, Winona of Greenville, SC; a sister, Ann Taylor of Canton; sister-in-law, Betty Herren and her husband, Bill of Butler, TN; four grandchildren, Savanna and Jesse Ashe, Daniel and McKenzie Wilson and several nieces and nephews.<br><br>Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 5, 2005 in New Cruso Cemetery with the Reverend Chris Willett officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at Wells Funeral Home in Canton.<br><br>Flowers are appreciated, or memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 90 Stiles Road, Canton, NC 28716 or Haywood Regional Medical Center Hospice, Home Health Building, 560 Leroy George Drive, Clyde, NC 28721.<br>
