Sarah Pressley Farmer

Canton, Sarah Pressley Farmer, 79, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, September 5, 2023. 

A native of Buncombe County, she was the daughter of the late Marvin Glenn and Virginia Kinsland Pressley.  Sarah retired from BASF following 40 years of service.  Family was of utmost importance to Sarah.  She cherished time spent with her only grandson, Jesse.  They enjoyed hot fudge sundaes and Taco Bell dinners after school.  Sarah’s Boston Terrier, Max, “Mommies Baby”, was her constant companion who never left her side.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Douglas McKay Farmer, who died in 2013; and two sisters, Martha Jean Warren and Barbara Sue Wise.

Left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Sharon Mull and her husband, Jeremiah of Canton, and Alisa Pressley and her husband, Marvin Crawford of Canton; and one grandson, Jesse McKay Mull.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 8, 2023 at Rocky Face Baptist Church with the Reverend Donnie Henson officiating.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the church.  A private family burial is planned for a later date.    

Serving as pallbearers will be:  Marvin Crawford, Sr., Marvin Crawford, Jr., Jeremiah Mull, Bennett Hipps, Billy Mease, and Timothy Anderson.  Honorary pallbearer will be Jesse Mull. 

Memorials can be made in Mrs. Farmers memory to Rocky Face Baptist Mission Fund, 1635 Worley Cove Road, Canton, NC  28716.
