Sarah Fish

Sarah Hendrix Fish, age 79, died Tuesday, August 25, 2009, at Mission Hospitals – Memorial Campus. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Eugene and Mary Revis Hendrix. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Richard Hendrix and a sister, Corky Richardson. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Sarah's passion was her family. Her favorite past time, in addition to her children and grandchildren was bowling, which she enjoyed for the past 50 years. She made lifelong friends as a member of the Professional Women's Bowling Association in both Canton and Asheville. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Harry Woodrow Fish; two sons, Woody Fish and his wife, Pam, of Shelby, and Randy Fish and his wife, Lee Ann, of Lawrenceville, GA; two daughters, Brenda Hardin and her husband, Dave, of Lincolnton and Sharon Marshall and her husband, Don, of Tampa, FL; three sisters, Betty Brown and Martha Grooms of Candler and Becky Floyd and her husband, Fred, of Aiken, SC; two brothers, Ernest Hendrix and his wife, Tula, of Canton and David Hendrix and his wife, Anita, of Candler; and seven grandchildren, Brad and Chase Hardin, Patrick Fish and Brandon Templeton, and Kathryn, Jesse, and James Marshall. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2009, at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Kevin Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery, Newfound Road. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
